Cold Saddle and Warm moments

I replaced my synthetic saddle with a real COWGIRL saddle. I decided to take Miss Star for our first whirl in the arena at our new barn. In my new saddle of course. Those slick seats are chilly on the bee-hind, lucky I have a saddle cover. Do they make heated saddle seat covers? That would be so awesome, like heated seats in my car. ohhhhh yeah...
BBFF and her mare were in the round pen at one end and Miss Star and I were on the outside. So BBFF showed me new mad horsie skillz, and we watched in the peanut gallery.
Miss Star has mad " stand and wait" skillz. She could stand in one spot all day if I asked. Antsy is a non issue here. I am very aware that she is really never in any hurry to exert herself.

She was fabulous on the left go as usual, but on the right go it was spooky, skeery blue barrels must shy right. , same barrels we passed going left, but somehow they were BIGGER? Bluer? ugh... But lucky for me she is not a uber spooker and we can usually keep our momentum going.
But all in all it was such a great ride. The arena is so well lit it is like riding in the day time. It was very cold out, but the arena is full of positive energy you just can't help but have a great ride.

Nothing is better than sitting in the saddle , talking with friends and not a care in the world at that moment. Riding horses makes you live in and be present in that moment.. It's an amazing feeling being on the back of a horse you love , both relaxed and just taking it all in. It's one of life's finer treasures.
Cowgirl up!

Do you know, I have never been near a horse--except for parades and such---I don't think I have ever touched one---they truly are beautiful though:)

Heated saddle--you may be on to something.

It is friday--Happy weekend!

A heated saddle seat and a cup holder would RULE!

Julieann and Kristina, you should go talk to a horse it's very cathartic if you are having a bad day. I do pray before I ride though, just a little insurance policy ;)
