I am going to the MECCA of Bookstores tonight and would love a recommendation for our Book Club book for February and March. I am hosting March , so I want to look smart and everything.
I hate self -help books and we have put a ban on them. :)
Other than that..
Tell me what you have read and why you loved it!

ohhh you have to read "The Shack". It is super good read, a little intense and very thought provoking. But double check Amazon's recommendations and excerpts to make sure. I loved it!!
Thanks!
Will do!
The book I chose for BC, was called "The Year of Living Biblically."
Very interesting and really funny. It's about a guy who lives the Old Testament, and part of the New Testamant literally, for a year. If you have people who are religious, I think they will enjoy it. It was on the Bestseller list.
My favorite book of all time is "Blindness" by Jose Saramagio. They just made it into a movie -- which I have yet to watch. The book is thought-provoking, to say the least. It's different, too. It's translated from Portugese and his writing and story-telling, while it takes a chapter or two getting used to, is amazing.
This is why I love my blogger peeps!
Thanks ladies!
White Trash Etuquette... The definitive guide to upscale trailer park manners, By Dr. Verne Edstrom.
Very informative.
A must read.
Ummm, sorry, looking smart is NOT my specialty. If you need dumbass, come get me!
non-fic pic lol, The Faraway Horses by Buck Brannaman, a good read for even the non horsey
"Daughters of the West" by Anne Seagraves. I've really enjoyed this.
On the back it states "Rough, tough, and in skirts!
It contains true stories of real women who helped settle the west. If you like a lil' bit of history, it's light, easy reading.
If you want a book with major twists and an ending that is guaranteed to provoke a book discussion, you cannot go wrong with Life of Pi.
I read this for a Book Club last Spring and couldn't stop turning the page, all the way to the incredible ending.
