Holy Hooves of Mother Mary.... Whats this?

OK horseie hoof experts.. WTH happened here?
It wasnt like this a week ago when she gor her bath, Didnt notice it on Sunday when we moved.
There it was on MOnday. She's not lame.. but IM OCD if there is anything slight wrong with this horse.... Farrier can't come until the 7th.

its the weirdest crack with scrape marks????
This is so strange....

I hate her hooves, they cause me so many sleepless nights I can't stand it.

We will be barefoot soon.... I pray that the transition will be swift and painless..
JP2 did it for Abu and Im doing it for Star.
So peeps what did my girl do??

i cant say i have seen anything like it. At first I thought it was breaking away near the nail holes, but then I saw the holes are more in front. I wonder if she got caught on something and just tore it up. If she is not sore just keep an eye on it. But I would cream to the roof tops of it gets bigger

That is my first thought, that she got caught on something, is she stalled or out to pasture?
Maybe under the stall wall? They never tell us do they?

Didnt ask you if it was on the inside or outside, looks like outside?

I am going to get Dear Husband to take a look see here as well- But I strongly suspect that jackhole who dug around in her soles and bars not too long ago weakened her heel structure, maybe caused an abscess to form and rupture, thus weakening the heel even more, and you are now seeing it shear off. (NOT A LIFE THREATENING DEAL. DO NOT PANIC!!) The marks you see are rasp marks- someone ran their rasp over the wall a while back- which also *could* be from someone trying to do a patch job on the heel. More as soon as I can get Dear Hubby to sit down long enough to take a look!!

She was stalled with a run until Sunday when we moved. HEr hooves were perfectly fiune as of l;ast Thursday when she got the wedding bath.... I missed it until MOnday evening somehow.

Interesting...and crazy!
I sure hope it's nothing and 'heals' back to normal quickly.
Barefoot will probably be the best thing for your pretty girl. After a couple weeks of adjusting her feet will get strong and tough. :)
